Welcome to My Weight Loss Journey

     Hello to all food-loving fitness junkies!

My name is Maryam and I started this site to help everyone who loves to eat and stay fit do just that! Fitness and health have always been a big part of my life and for the most part, I have always been in great shape. Why start a whole website about it now? About a year ago, I married my best friend and at the same time, started an intense Master's program (I'm currently earning my Master of Medical Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Seton Hall University) which left me with zero time to do pretty much anything. My stress levels were at an all-time high, I found it difficult to go to the gym, and I was eating anything that was readily available to me (aka the kind of food that makes your love handles visit). Soon, the pounds started packing on and my energy levels had plummeted. But if you know me, you know I wasn't going to let my new life get the best of me. I made a change by realizing I needed to make time for myself and my health! I began meal prepping and cooking my own food! Best part? I enjoyed everything I ate!

      Only by changing what I ate and the way I ate, the weight started coming off and my energy levels were back to normal. The point is...life happens. Things get in the way and its OK if your once loose skinny jeans feel a tad bit snug. The only person who can make a change and undo all the wrong you've done to your body is YOU! It just depends on how bad you want it. My journey is not about getting fit for a wedding or birthday or any other short term goal. It's a lifestyle! I hope my tips, techniques, and recipes bring you as much joy and success as they have brought me!
